What Came in the Mail: Soak Artisan Soap’s Bath Bomb Trio

November 9, 2017 by Tina Lee Leave a Comment

Since we haven’t traveled to the city for a while now, I had to do most of my shopping online. I was hoping to score bath bombs as I prepared for my Davao trip. I like having several bath bombs with me whenever I’m holidaying cuz usually, the resort or hotel has a bathtub. I wish I had a bathtub because I live for frilly bath kaartehan in all shape and form! Bath bombs and bubble baths are mah jam!

I usually get my bath fizzies at Lush but the store is so far away. Unfortunately, the brand has no online store in PH, boo! There I was, frantically searching for bath bombs sellers when I came across the Soak Artisan Soap brand.

For those unfamiliar, this is an indie store that sells all-natural, cruelty-free bath essentials, particularly artisanal soaps and linen sprays. I came for the bath fizzies and that’s exactly what I ordered. Do note that I ordered these babies using my mobile phone so the whole process was quick and easy.

Unfortunately, the selection’s a little scant. Also, I hit checkout too fast not thinking about adding more fizzies. I emailed the customer support asking for additional orders so I won’t be charged twice for a single delivery. Sadly, I was told that none of their bath fizzes come in regular size so there’s no point in ordering more. Oh, well.

The good news is, delivery is swift. I ordered these babies on October 29th and received the package on November 3. That’s fast considering October 31 and November 1 were national holidays. Packaging’s a little blah but there’s bubble wrap so the products came in a pristine state, as you can see.

The package consists of 3 mini bath bombs called Party Beach, Sweet Dreams, and Poison Berry. The scents are Soak Artisan Soap’s signature fragrances. I do love the fragrance, although it might bother peeps with sensitive noses.

I wish these came in regular sizes though. I feel that I’ll use these up in one go because they’re so smol! I will, of course, write a review once I use these babies up so stay tuned!

What Came in The Mail: Sephora PH App Exclusive Sale

November 5, 2017 by Tina Lee Leave a Comment

If you remember a few posts ago, I tried shopping at Sephora PH using my app and picked up a few items on sale. I have shopped at Luxola.com/ph back in the day but this would be my first time shopping after the e-beauty store was sold to Sephora.

Shopping using the app was easy although there were a couple of glitches. For instance, two items that I picked up weren’t reflected at the checkout so I didn’t get them. That’s okay because I was quite happy with the items that I picked up.

I got one of Becca’s iconic highlighter, the Shimmering Skin Perfector in rose gold. I would’ve gotten the Opal, which is the most popular shade in the range, but the shade is too similar to my theBalm Mary Lou-manizer. The rose gold is quite bronzy and deep, I’m sure it will suit my skin tone perfectly.

Next, I got the Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Duo contour kit. I am new to the brand and but was always curious about the Everlasting liquid lipsticks. Glad I snagged this item just in time. I’m eyeing another lipstick set from the brand, the Holiday Deluxe Liquid Lipstick Set. It’s still on my wishlist together with the Foreo Luna Mini 2, hahaha! I’m just waiting for a FRESH restock before I make another purchase, a larger one this time.

Finally, I got a bath gel from Mario Badescu. I actually got this by mistake. I was thinking of getting this for our Davao trip because our hotel has a bathtub but I realized too late that I can’t put this in my carry-all. So that sucks. Now I got another bath gel to add to my already sizable bath gel collection, heh.

Weirdly enough, my parcel also came with an extra Becca highlighter, the Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duo (in Champagne pop and hyacinth). I told you the app was buggy! I was so surprised! I did accidentally add this to my bag while shopping but somehow, it disappeared during checkout. I wasn’t charged for the product and though I don’t really like this combo (partial to the coral version), I can’t say no to free shit. I live for it, actually. The parcel also came with a free canvas tote (with a print that announces my beauty addiction) and a couple of samples.

That’s my modest purchase. Too bad there wasn’t more stuff on sale, the items were quite limited. Shopping using the app was okay but it was laggy at times, especially when checking out. It took a while before I received the stuff I bought. I ordered these last October 26 and got the package on November 4. Granted, Sephora did say the delivery will be slightly delayed during sales + the package came from Singapore.

That being said, I will continue to shop during sales because Sephora PH does offer great deals! I’ve already tried most of the products and the highlighters are BOMB. Stay tuned for the reviews, have a happy weekend!

Review: Miss Bella PH Acrylic Organizers

July 8, 2017 by Tina Lee Leave a Comment

Disclaimer: Not a paid post. All items featured in this post were bought using my own monies.

Are you a neat freak? Love organizing your vanity like I do? You’ll love acrylic organizers! Muji is a great place for clear organizers but they’re hella expensive. If you’re looking for affordable acrylic organizers to tidy up your vanity, try shopping at Miss Bella PH.

Miss Bella PH

Miss Bella PH is a beauty junkie’s haven for makeup organizers. The online store has everything from rotating lippy towers to makeup brush cases! The selection is surprisingly vast. That’s great news for those looking for specialized organizers.

I picked up two acrylic organizers from Miss Bella PH: the Carrie and Tiffany 3 Drawer Cosmetic Organizer Set. Here’s a quick review:

The Process

Miss Bella PH has an online store and this is the platform you’ll use to send your orders too. I don’t think the seller accepts orders from casual pings or personal messages.

Miss Bella PH

From the website, there’s a catalog of products from the collection. Just choose the product you want and add the item to your cart. Once you’re done, fill out the order form and hit submit. Finally, you’ll receive a confirmation email and order is complete.

I completed the orders using my mobile phone so it was an easy process. My order arrived within 4 to 5 days, which is kinda slow but it’s fine. The items came well packed, bubble-wrapped and all!

The Organizers

Since I bought the more affordable organizers from Miss Bella PH (PhP750 a pop), I was slightly worried that the quality would be crappy. Thankfully, the organizers are pretty durable. The acrylic material is thick and it could withstand a few bumps.

Miss Bella PH
Tiffany Organizer

These organizers look similar but how the drawers are laid out is different. The first variant (Tiffany) has three drawers and a removable top tray.

Miss Bella PH
Carrie Organizer

The other one (Carrie) has 2 mini drawers, 2 large drawers, and a removable top tray. The style of the trays is different too.

I love both organizers, they are so stylish and functional. They make my vanity look ten times better. I love how roomy each drawer is, it can store several full-sized makeup brushes! The top tray is fantastic too. It kept my lippies organized and within easy reach.

Miss Bella PH

However, one of the removable trays I got was badly damaged. I suppose the tray got bonked pretty hard during shipping. I emailed Miss Bella PH about the issue and the seller promptly sent a replacement! I didn’t have to ship the damaged item back to the seller, which is convenient. Took a couple of days before I got the replacement tray but that was fine.

Miss Bella PH

Final Thoughts

The ordering process was so easy and straightforward. The items themselves are so chica and functional.  The organizers are also priced right, although some items from the website are a little on the expensive side.

I love the fact that Miss Bella PH’s customer service is prompt too. I got my replacement tray without bugging the rep at all. Overall, I love Miss Bella PH! I would definitely order again if I’m in the market for more makeup organizers.

What Came in the Mail: Gold Birkenstock + My Zalora Experience

January 18, 2017 by Tina Lee Leave a Comment

I do my shopping at any mall nearby but on days when I’m practically bedridden from laziness, I do bits of shopping online. I’ve had great experiences buying stuff online until recently so I am more careful now and I only shop at trusted websites like Sephora.

gold-birks

I wanted to get myself a couple of Birkenstock sandals and I know that Zalora PH has these pretty gold ones that I really liked. However, since I didn’t know how accurate the sizing is, I decided to get a pair of brown Arizonas first via Birks’ standalone boutique at Megamall before ordering the gold ones just to make sure I got the size right. Confident that I have the right size, I went ahead and ordered the gold one online.

photo-20-12-2016-9-22-42-am

Shopping around and ordering at Zalora is easy enough, I downloaded the app and completed my order within seconds. I ordered the sandals on December 26th and I received the package on January 6, so waiting time was long and it was frustrating because I was meaning to wear them on New Year’s eve because I’m Chinese and the color gold is lucky. But unluckily enough, I didn’t receive the sandals in time, le ugh.

photo-06-01-2017-2-47-52-pm

Anyhoo, I totally ripped the personalized packaging (that was a nice touch) out of excitement. My best friends’ wedding was coming up and since it’s a beach wedding, the gold Birks would be perfect. Imagine my surprise when the sandals I got were half an inch too big!

photo-06-01-2017-3-21-04-pm

Now, I got the right size and I was sure that it was my size because it’s the same size as my old Birks but somehow, the ones I got are still big. I was so freakin’ disappointed! And I had no choice but to return them but I feel so bad about it because the sandals are to die for!

The good news was, returning the package was easy and you don’t have to pay for additional shipping. Just send the package to the nearest LBC or JRS and they’ll take care of the rest.

Now, I gave Zalora another chance after getting my refund because I wanted a pair of gold Birks so badly. I ordered the same design but I went a size up, hoping against hope that I made the right decision.

Incidentally, the Gold Arizonas that I wanted were on sale! I got them for PhP 3,700+ (original price was 4,700+), so it was quite a bargain. This time around, the package didn’t take two weeks to ship but it was still longer than most of my online transactions. I ordered the sandals on the 11th and got a shipping alert on the 14th. I received the package on the 17th.

Thankfully, I got the right size this time.

What Came in The Mail: Xiaomi 16000 maH Powerbank

May 9, 2015 by Tina Lee Leave a Comment

I’m not the type who uses her phone until it runs out of juice. I’m not really into games or any other activities that drain my phone’s battery. But after the boyf got his own power bank, he suggested I get one as well because of the erratic power outage in my provincial home. I really didn’t think I needed one until he pointed it out.

For weeks after that, I have been looking for a good power bank brand. I found out that Xiaomi’s newest high capacity power bank will be on sale several weeks before. The catch? It’s an online sale.

Photo 5-9-15, 9 23 35 AM

It was the first time in a long time that I bought anything online. I tend to avoid such things because I’m extremely paranoid about leaving my account information on the net.

The power bank arrived a little over a week after I ordered it, wasn’t really pleased about that.

Photo 5-9-15, 9 23 17 AM

The Xiaomi power bank is packed in a very straightforward manner. the box comes with a paper tray where the product lay. As for the power bank itself, it’s silver and very sexy – albeit surprisingly hefty. It comes with a connection cable, a user guide and nothing more.

On the side of the box, there is a hologram sticker that you have to scratch to get the verification code. You go to the Xiaomi site and use the code to check if you have an authentic product. I checked mine and indeed, it’s authentic. This is a great feature because I read there are a lot of fake Mi power banks being sold online.

Photo 5-9-15, 9 23 40 AM

Apart from being able to charge my iPhone 6 five times, the power bank can also charge two devices simultaneously. This is the reason why I bought it 🙂

As far as looks go, the Mi power banks, in general, could pass for Apple products. The power bank sports the same aluminum body as an iTouch 🙂 What I liked about the power bank is its handiness.

The design is fairly slim, you can slip it into your purse and it won’t take up much space. My only gripe is I wish it came with a sleeve or something. I’ve got butterfingers and I’m worried about dropping this, hahaha! Also, I wish this came in gold, my favorite color.

Photo 5-9-15, 9 23 57 AM

I tested this several times and it works beautifully. Love it 🙂 Such a great buy.
