Solving Unpaid Past Due Tax For Less

August 30, 2012 by Tina Lee-Almazar | Tinaciouslee Leave a Comment

Settling past due tax is very tricky particularly if you do not ask for a tax professional to help you during this difficult time. If you owe less than $10,000 in past due tax, you can be in dialogue with the IRS until an agreement how to pay the debt is reached. However, not all people can pay their debt in full. For this reason, many taxpayers turn to various IRS debt relief programs to resolve their issues.

To settle past due tax, you must make a settlement with the IRS. To do this, you need to make sure that you are in full compliance with filing of taxes. Ensure that any unfiled tax returns are submitted to the IRS.

On the other hand, if you failed to file the documents that are required, it is best to hire a tax professional to file an amendment return. This will help minimize the amount of taxes owed. Once you and your tax consultant assess your situation, you can determine the right program to solve your past due tax. Here are some of the tax settlement programs offered by the IRS that will have you paying less than the actual debt you owe.

Offer-in-Compromise

This is by far the most common past due tax settlement taxpayers go for when they deal with the IRS. However, this is also the hardest settlement to qualify for because it would mean convincing the IRS that your offer is equal or greater than the amount they want to extract from you. This method allows a taxpayer to pay less than the amount of money they owe to the IRS. If accepted by the IRS, the remaining tax liability of a person is wiped clean once the agreed amount has been paid.

Partial Installment Payment Agreement

This agreement allows the taxpayer to pay back all the past due tax in a per monthly basis. This offer is available only to people who are unable to afford the required minimum amount for regular installment agreement.

Penalty Abatement

This debt program enables the taxpayer to eliminate all or some of the penalties added to the debt. However, this agreement does not eliminate any of the base amount of owed tax. The fact is, the IRS uses penalty charges as a means to make people pay past due tax, when they realize that the taxpayer has genuine reasons for not paying their taxes on a timely manner, they will allow penalty abatement, which minimizes the actual cost of the debt.

Here are just some of the programs available for taxpayers if they want to resolve their past due tax for less. It is best to look for a tax consultant to help you determine the best action to take. Our site offers a variety of tax debt solutions for various needs. For information, read our articles and start checking with us for regular updates.

Avandia Lawsuit Information

August 30, 2012 by Tina Lee-Almazar | Tinaciouslee Leave a Comment

Avandia is a diabetes drugs approved in the US in 1998 to treat type 2 diabetes. The drug was designed to control blood glucose levels. However, concerns about life-threatening side effects began mounting years after its release. Studies show that the drug has caused between 60,000 to 200,000 heart attacks and death due to cardiovascular problems in the US from 1999 to 2006.

Avandia lawsuit pertains to personal injury cases where patients seek compensation from the makers of Avandia, GlaxoSmithKline after sustaining life-threatening side effects from the drug.

Avandia lawsuit can win settlements for affected patients regardless whether the suit filed was as an individual claim or a class action suit as long as:

  • The injuries were caused by taking Avandia
  • The makers of Avandia knew about the dangers of the drug and yet failed to disclose the side effects to the general public and the FDA

Families of patients who have passed away due to complications after taking the drug are entitled to monetary settlements to compensate for their loss. For deaths led by taking Avandia, it is best to file an individual Avandia Lawsuit rather than a class action case.

If you or a loved one has been a victim of the drug and is considering filing an Avandia lawsuit, you must meet with a personal injury attorney for preliminary consultation. During the initial consultation, patients can determine if they have a provable case. This is also an opportunity for patients to familiarize themselves about the process of building the case and winning the Avandia lawsuit filed.

During the preliminary meeting, you will require information pertaining to the proceedings and settlements in cases similar to your own as well as what type of lawsuit that are most advantageous to your cause. Most Avandia lawyers do not charge for preliminary consultations as an added incentive for prospective clients to fight for their legal rights.

Dangers Of Avandia Side Effects

August 30, 2012 by Tina Lee-Almazar | Tinaciouslee Leave a Comment

Avandia is an oral diabetes drug created by GlaxoSmithKline. Designed to treat type 2 diabetes and control the blood sugar levels in the body, Avandia was released in the US in 1998. However, Avandia side effects began mounting a few years after it was released. Experts believe that the drug may have caused 60,000 to 200,000 heart attacks and death due to cardiovascular problems in the US from 1999 to 2006.

Although the makers of this drug have gone through several legal battles in connection with Avandia side effects, there are people who are able to tolerate the effects. In some cases, the effects are minor and do not require any treatment. However, there are hundreds of cases wherein Avandia side effects were so severe; they have caused long-term ailments and deaths.

Serious and potentially life-threatening Avandia side effects include:

  • Congestive heart failure
  • Liver toxicity
  • Heart attacks
  • Stroke
  • Allergic reaction

Clinical studied show that the most common side effects of Avandia include upper respiratory infections, brittle bones, injuries, back pain, and anemia. Avendia is made for insulin dependent patients, which is why it is often used in conjunction to insulin treatments.

For expectant and breastfeeding women, it is not recommended to use this drug, as Avandia is believed to harm babies. Before considering this medication, consult your doctor first. People with a history of congestive heart failure, liver disease eye problems or heart disease cannot take Avandia as this medication could worsen these conditions. Women are more likely to have bone fractures in the arms, hand and foot than men after taking Avandia.

Many oral diabetes drugs may increase risks of serious heart ailments. Avandia side effects caused its maker millions of dollars in settlements. Before taking any medication, make sure that you seek the counsel of your attending physician.

Certain oral diabetes medications may increase your risk of serious heart problems. However, not treating your diabetes can damage your heart and other organs. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of treating your diabetes with Avandia.
