Insightful Linguist, I Are.

September 26, 2008 by Tina Lee Leave a Comment

I was so bored that I did what any person would do, I checked out how my I.Q. was faring from my seemingly unending inactivity. Surprisingly enough, my I.Q. level fared better than my back which ached like crazy by the time I finished the test.

Actually, I took two I.Q. tests and surprises of all surprises, generated almost the same score. That would’ve been awesome except I didn’t really took the second quiz seriously. I was too tired doing Math and figuring out who’s taller than Frank or Suzie that I just did the old Eenie-Minnie-Mo on the last ten questionnaires.

I would’ve took a screen cap for this bit but for some weird reason, my Photoshop couldn’t copy the damn page. So now I had to copy paste the whole thing.

Insightful Linguist

Your IQ Score is: 117

You are gifted with the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind.

Insightful linguists– can take complex concepts and articulate them to just about anyone. You have a gift with words and insight into processes and the way people think. These talents enable you to explain things clearly to people. Helen Keller is a great example of an Insightful Linguist. Blind, deaf and mute, she was still able to put things together in her mind and to understand complex ideas. She could do that because she was able to conceptualize ideas internally. Though she could not literally see, she had the visual and spatial skills necessary to understand patterns on an abstract level. She learned to read, write and ultimately became a writer on issues of social justice.

You have an uncanny ability to work your way out of sticky situations using your talent with words. Crossword puzzles, debates — you’re particularly well equipped to come out on top since you can read people well.

Like Charles Dickens, your verbal skills go far beyond having a good vocabulary. Dickens’ genius was in the artful and descriptive way he crafted sentences. Also Dickensian, is your keen eye for detail and your adeptness for identifying the best way to express an idea based on your given surroundings and circumstances.

Your ability to communicate your vision clearly will take you far. So enjoy being perceptive, and make the most of your abilities as an insightful linguist.

… so it appears I chose the right career after all. I are awesome!

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, Tina- Style

September 25, 2008 by Tina Lee Leave a Comment

Things have been a little rough lately. I think the string of bad news got triggered by a little argument between me and that Boy last month. It’s been bad news ever since and it’s leaving me a bit frustrated about people in general. Dealing with people sure is difficult and if you happen to be the kind of person who’s got a volatile temper, it’s even worse. I remember an old office mate telling me something about his hate for people and at this point I share the same sentiment.

Speaking of which, the Ex-Best friend texted me this morning with a lovely quote that goes something like this:

“Do you know what’s the mark of people worth keeping for the rest of your life? It’s when you become impossible to deal with and yet they stay by your side”

Just when I thought it’s impossible to be sweet and sardonic at the same time, she says something like this at 6 in the fucking morning. I wanted to respond and say something witty like, “You’re the one to talk” or simply a heartfelt “Fuck You” but I knew the message hit closer to home. And that’s it’s six in the fucking morning.

Needless to say I ignored her and the message.

Actually, I’ve been meaning to tell her that all is forgiven but I never got around to talk to her, not even via text message. I’m not sure if it’s because I can’t stand seeing her in person or the fact that I’d feel uncomfortable catching up with her.

I don’t know which is much worse, the fact that I’m fast becoming an expert at losing friends and alienating people or the fact that I’m okay with how things are going and have no plans of doing anything about it.

Another thing that is bugging me is that my new schedule, which I first thought to be awesome, is seriously kicking my ass. The traffic is unnerving, I’m overeating and time seems to drag ever so slowly. What made matters worse is that my old sideline went down the shitter yesterday and even though that dumbass assured us that it would only be temporary, I’m not too optimistic about it at all.

The timing is perfect too because I was meaning to buy me a new mobile phone by the end of this month and wouldn’t you know it, all of my cash cow disappeared. Just. Like. Fucking. That.

I want to strangle somebody. Seriously, I want to strangle somebody and then start a month-long sabbatical just so I could get the fuck out of the hustle n’ bustle and try to clear my mind from all of the bullshit.

Maybe I should just take my own fucking advice and not dwell too much on these things because things have a way of working out for the best. Heh, easier said than done.

Crezi for Gadgets!

September 12, 2008 by Tina Lee Leave a Comment

Pinching pennies, that’s what I’ve been doing in the past months mainly because 1) I wanna fatten up the bank account for future endeavor and 2) I wanna prepare myself this coming Christmas season so that I could hand out the best gifts I could… screw this, who am I kidding? I’m saving monies because before the year is over I will be getting me this baby:

Behold, my next mobile phone

As much as I loved my old mobile, I’m feeling left out. It’s been four years and I think it’s high time for me to experience the whole “Wi-Fi” extravaganza. Initially, I was thinking of getting a Blackberry or an iPhone even, but after I’ve given it some thought, I figured that iPhone is not really me. Besides, I’ve already reserved a place for Apple this coming Christmas and that would be:

I’ve got music, I’ve got soul! What more can I ask for?

…Oh, yeah, an Orange tint, beyotch!

What a momentous day September 9 was! I’ve been an iPod fan for a good 3 years and have in fact, busted two of their awesome MP3 players, both in green, if I may add but now…

Finally. There is now an Orange version of the newly launched 4th Generation Nano series by Apple. How awesome is this? Personally, I was hardly moved by its horrendous predecessor! I couldn’t “get” what the hell was going on with its design but this! This brings tears to my almost non-existent almond eyes!!!

Although the Cnet Rev left me a bit underwhelmed, I’m still gonna get myself one for Christmas! I practically busted a vein after checking out the design! Oh, and for iTouch lovers, there’s a new one to drool over tew! From what I heard, it’s gonna give ye ol’ PSP a run for its moneh.

Lastly, and I’m not really prioritizing much over this because as much as I love to buy the Sony Cybershot T2 model, I sprang into action a little bit too late and more or less ruined the momentum. The day I was supposed to buy one, they had it on sale days ago and it was gone in more or less, sixty seconds. No left-overs, which is so the pits.

My sister agreed to chip in (she’s thinking of buying a digi-cam herself) on one condition, that we go for Panasonic because she’s been hearing raves from its Lumix Series. I’m not sure which model to buy and if I/we will be getting one for Christmas or just wait it out until January comes rolling in. I prefer the latter rather than the former, though. At 25, I’m too young to declare bankruptcy.
